Job Description / Responsibility
Grade : Service Contract at G-6 equivalent
Duty Station: Dhaka
Duration : One year (with possibility of extension)
Contract Type : Service Contract (SC)
Under supervision of the MDG-F Co-ordinator, the Senior Programme Assistant, M&E is responsible for the following duties:
The staff member will regularly follow up with sub-office and implementing partners to ensure proper implementation of the monitoring system and tools for different activities;
The incumbent will be responsible to ensure the quality of M&E data (generated by outside agencies or WFP sub-offices) through regular field visit and cross checking of the monitoring data;
Assist in organizing M&E related survey and studies and monitor the survey activities at field;
The incumbent is the MDG F programme focal person to develop an integrated database for the MDG F programme. This includes liaison with the sub-office, UN partner agencies, programme units and implementing partners to ensure timely entry of monitoring data and verify the quality of data;
The incumbent assists in undertaking an analysis of existing GoB databases/MIS to determine linkages and integration;
Assist in organizing M&E related capacity building training for the staff of WFP and implementing partners. Provide clarification and suggestions on field data collection;
Assist in developing monitoring and other reports including monitoring findings presentation by providing required analysis of the monitoring data;
The incumbent will modify/update the existing M&E database developed in Oracle and MS Access or develop the DB according to evolving needs;
He/she will also make follow up of the recommendations generated based on monitoring findings and assist in sharing M&E information;
Responsible for record keeping. Maintain lessons learned and develop common knowledge/information base on best practices for improved food security and nutrition;
Perform other related duties as required.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Computer science; any additional degree in social science or nutrition science or equivalent desirable.

Minimum 5 year(s)

Experience: 5 (Five) years experience of which three years experience in the field of monitoring, evaluation and reporting in development programme.
Considerable experience in data analysis, database development and management in Oracle and knowledge in Web development using Dot Net.
Other Desirable Skills: Computer skills, knowledge of MS Office software, SPSS and Database development. Good writing and communication skills.
Language: Fluency in both written and oral English and Bangla.
