Job Description / Responsibility
The SHOPS Bangladesh project is seeking a Private Sector Health Specialist to support the scale up of long acting and permanent methods of family planning into the practices private health providers.
The Private Sector Health Specialist would lead the private sector partnerships and marketing aspects of the SHOPS Bangladesh project. Working closely with the a project administrator based in Bangladesh and the Regional Manager based in Washington, DC, this person will lead the development and advancement of partnerships with private sector health facilities and interface with project partners and a wide variety of stakeholders – including key professional associations, the DGFP and DGHS, pharmaceutical companies, research vendors and others. This person would help design and be the lead implementer of strategies to select private health facilities for participation in the project, develop and integrate health business and marketing dynamics into trainings for private health facilities and develop the content and lead business enabling workshops with private health facility owners or business managers. This person would also lead a research study of health provider knowledge attitudes and practices of long acting and permanent methods of family planning in collaboration with project partners.
Educational Requirements
MBBS, public health or business degree
Experience Requirements
8 to 10 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
8-10 years of experience working in health projects - especially in family planning; strong grasp of the private health sector in Bangladesh; and sufficient professional presence to work with senior health experts while still managing and implementing day to day tasks. Fluency in Bangla and English (spoken and written) is required.
