Christian Aid is seeking a motivated Emergency Programme Assistant to join its Bangladesh Team. This is a 5 months national level position based on emergency response in AILA affected area.
The role involves providing support to Bangladesh emergency response, rehabilitation and disaster risk reduction activities and programmes supported by ECHO; provides support to partners in order to implement quality emergency activities; arrange and minute emergency meetings, including the Emergency Task Force meetings; monitors, coordinates and supports the preparation of reports to Institutional Donors; set up implement, maintain and monitor financial, administrative and reporting systems for the Bangladesh emergency relief, rehabilitation and disaster risk reduction programmes; track all grants and transactions relating to the emergency and disaster risk reduction programmes.
The post holder will be line managed by Emergency Programme Officer.
*Fix term contract for five months, 80%, Satkhira and 20% Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Educational Requirements
university degree in Disaster Management or equivalent qualification.
Additional Job Requirements
substantial emergency work experience at a mid level position; budget preparation and monitoring; excellent knowledge of spoken and written English; fluency in written and spoken Bangla; good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to be flexible in demanding circumstances; experience in office management.
