Job Description / Responsibility
The person will be required to carry out the Fashion Designing and Product Development functions (Knit) of Beximco Textiles Division the South-East Asia’s largest vertically integrated Yarn, Fabric (Woven, Knit, Denims) & Garments Manufacturing capacities with state-of-the art set up, which has been supplying a wide range of world-class RMGs to many up-market buyers/brands in the USA and Europe for more than a decade. The incumbent should have the hands-on experience in the following functions:
Handling the design and product development jobs for world-class fashion products
Ensure the timely and successful design and development of products in line with the customers’ requirement
Plan and carry out design and development functions in a way that ensures solid profitability and helps increase Company’s market share as well as value.
Researching latest fashion directions & trends in the market and competitor activities
Coordinate with key personnel involved in production of Knit fabric, drawing and cutting patterns and constructing samples for finished garments
Assembling seasonal forecasts and creating designs to feed the demand
Identify target markets for designs, looking at factors such as age, gender and socioeconomic status
Research the styles and periods of clothing needed for seasonal collection and ensure that adequate seasonal collections are made strictly in accordance with trend studies and customers’ feed back
Review fashion magazines and manuals in order to gather information about fashion trends and consumer preferences.
Sketch rough and detailed drawings of apparel or accessories, and write specifications such as color schemes, construction, material types, and accessory requirements.
Supervising the making up of sample garments and overseeing production.
Planning and developing ranges and adapting existing designs for mass production.

Educational Requirements
Degree in fashion design from a reputed fashion institute

Experience Requirements
2 to 3 year(s)
The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):

Buying House (Garments), Garments (Woven/Apparel/Knitting), Textile (Spinning, Weaving, Knitting, Dyeing/Finishing)

Age 25 to 30 year(s)
The candidate should be from design institute
Should have worked in design and product development in export house
Should have good understanding about knit fabrics and types
Knit machinery band process understanding is added value.
Should be able to work under pressure.
A very good knowledge of fashion design/ development functions related to global fashion industries is a must
Must be familiar with the current happenings in the Fashion Industries around the world
Solid sense of creating designs ensuring they reflect targeted market profiles
Ability to understand the concepts and trends of global fashion industries
Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken, is essential
